“We have finally arrived!
It is with pride that the team at IMODE brings you this inaugural edition of a magazine that has long been in the making.
We do this with a heady mix of celebration – and a collective sigh of relief – following long hours of labour, angst and – divine moments of creative freefall.
This is a publication with an ambitious mission to not only do what many others before us have done and are doing – that is, to inform, entertain and provoke discussion.
We also aim to be diverse in the kinds of media we engage, and we would like to believe that we can be edgy and hard-hitting in our coverage of those subjects that affect you as members of Epeli Hau’ofa’s vast Oceanic family. Our family is no longer limited to, or by, this feared and much-regaled blue expanse of the planet. Many of us today are educated, well-travelled, worldly and scattered across the continents. So it is only fitting that we can deliver a publication that embraces the technology which will allow you to defy old barriers and network across the ether in this new frontier ...
